An Innovative Solution for the Digitalization of Payments in the Hotel Sector
Roibos Technologies SL has developed the Hotel Wallet project, an innovative technological solution aimed at the comprehensive digitalization of payment processes between travel agencies and hotel establishments in the Balearic Islands.
The project is part of the grant program supporting innovative projects through cooperation, with the objective of identifying, implementing, and digitalizing innovative and sustainable solutions in tourism establishments in the Balearic Islands.
Project Objectives
The main objective of Hotel Wallet is to provide a technological tool that enables:
- Automation of virtual credit card (VCC) authorization and charging processes.
- Improved traceability and security of financial transactions.
- Optimization of bank reconciliation processes for hotel establishments.
- Reduction of administrative workload and manual processes.
- Increased operational efficiency within the Balearic tourism sector.
The solution has been designed using a microservices-based architecture, integrating with payment gateways and banking systems, and complying with security standards such as PCI DSS and GDPR.
Results Achieved
The project has enabled:
- A reduction of more than 60% in the time dedicated to financial reconciliation processes in pilot hotels.
- Full digitalization of payment flows associated with reservations managed through virtual credit cards.
- Improved security and control of financial operations.
- Strengthening of the technological tourism ecosystem in the Balearic Islands.
Hotel Wallet is currently ready for international expansion and scalability.

This project has been funded under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU, through the call for innovative projects in tourism establishments in the Balearic Islands.
